Reenrollment Quest is an initiative where various campus constituents, including Professional Academic Advisors and Faculty Advisors, proactively outreach students to assist them in registering for their next semester courses, identify and remove holds, and guide their choices to promote persistence. This successful short-term initiative has contributed to meaningful improvements in persistence of Sonoma State University students. As national research has shown, if institutions want to quickly improve persistence, focusing on re-enrolling those students who have yet to register for next term is vital. After all, it is these students, by definition, who are in imminent danger of stopping out or dropping out.
Reenrollment Quest has helped remove barriers and assist students at Sonoma State University register for courses in the upcoming term by reenrolling the following percentage of undergraduate students:
Fall 2018 to Spring 2019: 95%
Spring 2019 to Fall 2019: 92.8%
As part of Reenrollment Quest, Sonoma State University administrators and Professional Academic Advisors use data analytics and predictive models in LoboConnect to identify and outreach students who are not likely to reenroll and then take steps to improve outcomes. Weekly emails are sent out to campus constituents to provide updates on Reenrollment Quest progress.
