Educational Technology

For remote learning, your faculty and you will be using many forms of educational technologies and online platforms.  Here are resources to the most commonly used technologies.

Canvas Online Courses

Canvas is the official learning management system (LMS) used by Sonoma State University.

Student Canvas Help Resources can assist you with familiarizing yourself with Canvas and includes the SSU Canvas Guide for Students, answers to frequently asked questions, and 24/7 support and hotline information.

Zoom Video Conferencing

Zoom is a free cloud-based meeting tool that provides online meetings, content sharing, and video conferencing capability. Zoom meetings use a device's built-in camera or a connected USB camera to share audio and/or video. Zoom works with Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, Blackberry, and Linux.

All students and employees have access to Zoom and can set up meetings. To access your Zoom account, log in to Online Services, then click the Zoom button.

Visit Zoom Resources for help on how to use Zoom, training, and documentation.

YuJa Video Platform

YuJa is a video management platform (like a private YouTube for SSU classes) that includes video recording and editing software.  YuJa is best for making and sharing original video content and making it easy to access in Canvas. (Zoom is best for live get togethers)
